As I sat down to write a post for my grandfather I was lost for words. For me, this was a shock, for the people that know me know that I don't have an issue talking and sometimes I talk a little too much. I decided to just record whatever came to mind, after doing them for so long, interviewing and podcasts are the norm for me but this was a little different. At times through this audio I get stuck for words and a little emotional, after all, I lost my hero and one of my favourite people. The community lost an icon, a person who loved everyone but was also loved by everyone.
I share my thoughts on the situation, the memories with my grandfather and add 2 pieces of audio from his funeral, one from Father Beshoura who had lunch with my grandfather every Wednesday, in his homily he quotes a comment from my grandfather which will stay with me forever “life can only be understood backwards but must be lived forward”, and the second from my Dad who has followed his father's footsteps since the day he was born, and in turn instilled that into us. I wasn’t sure about posting this but I wanted to share my thoughts on the situation as I felt it would help me get through what is a challenging time. RIP to the greatest man alive.
